Michael S. Conte, MD
Professor and Chief, Division of Vascular Surgery at UCSF
Board Certified: American Board of Surgery, General Surgery and American Board of Surgery, Vascular Surgery
Education: Dr. Michael Conte received his medical degree in 1986 at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in 1993, which included a two year research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. He completed his vascular surgery training in 1994 as the John Homans Fellow at BWH and Harvard Medical School (HMS), in Boston.
Special Interests: Aneurysms, diseases of the aorta and visceral vessels, PAD (peripheral artery disease), carotid artery disease, complex limb revascularization, diabetic vascular disease and dialysis access
Eugene C. Groeger, MD FACS
Board Certified: American Board of Surgery, General Surgery
Education: Dr. Groeger received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco where he served as chief surgical resident. He then also completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa.
Special Interests: All venous diseases, arterial diseases, aneurysms, dialysis access and general surgery
Jade S. Hiramoto, MD
Assistant Professor of Surgery at UCSF
Board Certified: American Board of Surgery, General Surgery and American Board of Surgery, Vascular Surgery
Education: Dr. Hiramoto earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. She completed her residency in general surgery, as well as fellowships in both interventional radiology and vascular surgery at the University of California San Francisco. She is an assistant professor of surgery at UCSF.
Special Interests: Thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections, carotid artery disease, renovascular disease, lower extremity arterial and venous disorders, venous insufficiency and varicose veins
Charles K. Lee, MD, FACS
Director of Microsurgery and Wound Care at St. Mary's Medical Center
Board Certified: American Board of Plastic Surgery
Education: Dr. Lee received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the Univ. of Chicago and then completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Buncke Clinic, San Francisco.
Special Interests: Complex upper/ lower extremity reconstruction, breast reconstruction using the DIEP and perforator flaps, varicose vein laser treatment, peripheral nerve surgery and microsurgery, wound care and soft tissue reconstruction.
Robert E. Murray, MD, MPA, FACS
Board Certified: American College of Surgeons
Education: Dr. Murray received his medical degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He completed his internship at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco and then a surgical residency at St. Louis University Group of Hospitals in St. Louis.
Special Interests: General, vascular and thoracic surgery
Involvement: Dr. Murray has been a very active member of St. Mary’s Medical Center’s Medical Staff for more than 20 years. He served two terms as President of the Medical Staff, served on the Board of Directors, served as Director of Physician Recruitment, was Associate Director of the Surgical Residency program and played a vital role in hospital-wide quality initiatives.
