Cardiac Rehabilitation Services
Treating heart disease is an important first step - but taking care of your heart once you arrive back home is just as important. St. Mary's Cardiac Health and Rehabilitation Program is open to people who have a history of coronary artery disease or who have had an angioplasty, heart surgery, heart valve surgery, heart failure, or a heart attack. Other patients may be admitted on a case-by-case basis. Typically, program participants must be referred by a physician.
Our team of specially-trained nurses lead a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes:
- progressive exercise
- dietary guidelines
- counseling
- education to help you safely return to your normal activities
Depending on the patient's needs, the rehab services are comprised of between 12 and 36 hour-long sessions with a nurse. The program is open to hospitalized patients, those with a recently diagnosed illness who need special monitoring, and patients who are stable and require less monitoring.
