Our state-of-the-art GI Suite has the newest model endoscopes to view a patient's gastrointestinal tract by minimally invasive means. Our GI physicians perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including:
-
Gastroscopy - This procedure examines the upper portion of the GI tract. A thin tube (gastroscope) will be inserted in your mouth to examine the upper portion of your gastrointestinal tract. Patients may be sedated during this procedure.
-
Colonoscopy - This procedure examines the lower portion of your gastrointestinal tract, usually for adults over age 50 or those with family history of polyps or colon cancer. Removal of polyps (polypectomy) may be done during a colonoscopy.
-
Flexible sigmoidoscopy - This procedure is performed for screening of the lower portion of the rectum and colon.
-
ERCP - Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography - A procedure to diagnose and treat gallstones though an endoscope using X-rays to treat gallstones in a non-invasive manner.
