Catholic Healthcare West is the official
health care provider for the San Francisco Giants. Both
organizations share a strong commitment to the community and
have built an unprecedented partnership between a professional
athletic organization and health care family to bring healthy
lifestyle programs and services to the fans and greater Bay Area
community.
CHW manages the CHW Health Center
at AT&T Park, a sports and occupational medicine facility
open to the public. Inside the ballpark on game days CHW operates
first aid stations for the fans.
Notably CHW and the Giants have launched a
comprehensive public access automated external defibrillator (AED)
program at AT&T Park to assist potential cardiac arrest
victims. AEDs are small, easy-to-use, portable devices that provide
definitive treatment for sudden cardiac arrest, one of the
country's leading medical emergencies and causes of death. Sports
arenas are one of the top five places where sudden cardiac arrest
occurs.
Additionally, CHW provides health care
services to major and minor league players during Spring Training
in Arizona.
