Services
St. Mary's Medical Center believes that total patient care demands
attention to the spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional
needs of each patient. Members of the spiritual care staff are
available to assist people of all faiths. Your own clergy or
advisor is welcome at any time. Spiritual or cultural practices can
be performed in the hospital if they do not interfere with your
care or the care of other patients.

Chapel/Meditation
Room
The chapel is located in the Medical Professional Building, 2250
Hayes Street, 6th floor. We also provide a Meditation Room is in
Main Hospital, Level B next to the Cafeteria. Visitors of all
faiths are welcome to visit the Chapel or Meditation Room for
prayer or meditation.
Masses/Sacraments
Mass is offered Monday through Friday at noon in the Chapel. There
is no Saturday or Sunday mass. Daily communion is available. The
other sacraments, primarily Reconciliation and Anointing of the
Sick, are available upon request. Mass is televised live on Channel
13 in the hospital, Monday through Friday at noon and at 10:00 a.m.
on Sunday, a tape of the mass of the day is played.
Memorial
Services
Memorial services are conducted quarterly. Loved ones of the
deceased are invited by mail to attend.
Special
Services
St. Mary's Medical Center offers a variety of special services to
make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. These
special services include the following:

Interpreters
The hospital has access to interpreters for a number of
languages. On-site Chinese Interpreter Services are
available Monday to Friday, 7:30a.m. to 4 p.m. at
(415)750-4972. Please ask your nurse for assistance. We
also provide translation service, using CyraCom, which
provides access to over 150 languages 24 hours a day, 7
days a week.

For the Hearing
Impaired
A telecommunications device is available to help hearing
impaired patients or patients who want to communicate with a
hearing impaired relative or friend. Arrangements can also be
made to have a person who uses sign language help a hearing
impaired or deaf patient. Please ask your nurse for
assistance.
